Where are dog evaluations, on-site consultations and sessions conducted?

All Pet Centrics Dog Training Sessions, Dog Behavior Evaluations and Consultations are conducted at the Bird’s Eye Multi-Purpose Hall along Dodge St. in Filinvest 2, Quezon City; approximately 20-30 minutes away from most residential areas along Commonwealth Avenue.

Restroom, parking spaces, street parking are available.

(This venue is rented for scheduled sessions only. It is not an office or clinic space. Schedule an appointment BEFORE visiting!)

What happens during the initial consultation?

During the initial consultation, we’ll talk about your training goals and any behavior issues you are experiencing with your dog.

I’ll evaluate your dog for things like his or her ability to pay attention and engage with me and with you; performance of trained behaviors (if any); and – if presented for reactivity or aggression – I may determine your dog’s tolerance threshold for his or her triggers.

How often are the training sessions and how many are there in a course?

Ideally, we should meet for our sessions at least once a week to maintain the flow of training.

On the average, it takes a minimum of 6 one-hour sessions for me to deliver all the lessons in one Basic Dog Training course. Extra sessions may be required for practice and proofing of skills and for Special Courses.

How often should I practice the course exercises with my dog?

You should be prepared to commit to at least three 5-15 minute sessions daily of training with your dog to practice the course exercises. Of course, more daily training time and more repetitions of the exercises will increase your dog’s rate of progress towards your training goals significantly.

This sounds like a lot of work for me. Why shouldn’t I just hire a trainer to train my dog for me?

Successful dog training comes from understanding your dog, having a good relationship with your dog, and from developing your own skills to teach and lead your dog. That’s why it’s important to me to involve you in your dog’s training from the very start.

Can I enroll my dog but have my household helper or assistant attend the class instead of me?

Family or household members are encouraged to attend the classes together with you, however, please avoid sending your helper to attend the class without a family member also present. To build the relationship with your dog, I encourage you to be directly involved in the training of your dog.
